What do you always take with you when you travel? Is it a favorite shirt? Is it SPF? Is it a lucky charm? 

Don’t laugh, but for me, it’s my butt bag. 

It goes by many names: bum bag, fanny pack, belt bag, moon bag, or belly bag. Have you heard they’re back in style? Or at least, they were selling them at the stores recently. I’m unsure if it became an actual trend.

I admit, it’s more functional than flash, but you cannot beat how easy and fancy free you will feel. I’m here to tell you it’s a MUST for travel, local or abroad.

Here are the 8 reasons why you will love a butt bag.  

• It lets you be hands free. You can explore or take care of a child. It just makes sense.  
• It keeps your cell phone available at all times. Need I say more? 
• It keeps small necessities within quick reach: SPF, lip balm, tissue, medication, a pen, chewing gum, money, and identification and credit cards.     
• It keeps all those little things organized. Choose a bag with separate compartments. No matter what, much better than sifting through an over sized bag. 
• It is adjustable. The waist strap can be adjusted for different people and your changing waistline through the years.
• It is versatile. You can sling it on your shoulder as a purse, wrap it around your waist, or tuck it inside a larger bag. Mine is black so it matches everything.   
• It is durable. Choose a fabric that is easy to keep clean. 
• It is comfortable. Choose a fabric that is comfortable on your skin.

I still use, and now absolutely treasure, my tatty butt bag that holds so many memories. I think I’ll pass it down to my children. The question is, I wonder which child will actually want it?
