100 Level Class Basic Travel Perks

Fellow travelers, it may be safe to search top travel destinations once again. Kids are sorta back at school, and this week’s news reported that a record number of people flew over Labor Day Weekend since the pandemic began.

Maybe it means more people are having faith over fear, or more people are just getting tired of letting life pass them by. If it’s done safely, can we really put our toe back in the water and travel again?

Either way, it’s fun to reminisce about the things that made being a traveler so romantic and cool!

Landscapes. They can be mountains, palm trees, hills, or a city skyline. It’s always jolting to glimpse life from another vantage point.

Nature.  Reptiles basking in Florida, big sky covering the West, and sunsets from a cruise ship deck. Getting closer to nature nurtures us.

Beaches. Some quiet and exotic, and some crowded and smelled of fish. The blue water and rhythmic waves always call us back.

Hotels. A comfy king size bed with Egyption cotton, 300 thread count sheets cleaned daily for us if we desire. Need I say more?

History. Go East and walk the same streets of our forefathers. Follow shadows in a haunted hotel. Tour an author’s home and stare into the room they wrote their novels. It’s off-kilter to think of the people who have come before us and will come after us.

Tours. They can be silly or serious. We’ve experienced wax museums, history tours, tasting tours of cheese, wine and beer. There’s much to learn and taste.

Road Trips. Our own van that was home away from home, complete with a movie player and heated seats. A car rental with a convertible top. The journey is half the fun!

Boats. Any kind and any size. There’s nothing like being out in our own vessel navigating the open water.

Rides. Amusement parks, Segways, or water taxis. It’s always a thrill to take a new ride.

Air Travel. The ultimate ride taking us to our destination. So many people going to so many places. It’s exciting!

Home. Yes, travel is in my DNA. I’m the one in the bunch teary eyed on the last night of the trip, but coming home is always the best. There are the dogs, my bed, my kitchen, and my backyard.

As much as I love to travel, “there’s no place like home.” Where is that hot air balloon, anyways? It’s gotta be coming soon! 😂
