Candy Hearts

It is Valentine’s Weekend. Who are your loves? And what do you most treasure in these loving relationships? It’s time to show and tell them!

And how about ALL of your relationships, whether it be school, work, family, neighbors, whoever. What do you value most?

For me, it is honesty. No lies! No pretending! No airs! No fakes! No whispers! No gossip! No agendas!

I LOVE real people! I would guess all of us appreciate the real people in our lives. Let’s define real. Merriam-Webster definition is “not artificial, fraudulent, or illusory.”

If we are lucky, we have real relationships. Merriam-Webster definition of relationship is “the relation connecting or binding participants.”

Real relationships are our greatest bonds. These people become part of us and we part of them. They are often parents, spouse, a child, a sibling, a family member, or a true friend. They have the power to break and mend your heart.

7 Gifts from Real Relationships

They speak the truth, even when it hurts.

They cheer on your happiness and success.

They cry for your heartache and failure.

They tell you, not others.

They build you, not diminish you.

They go deep, not shallow.

The bond strengthens over time.

To insist on real relationships will mean fewer relationships. It may seem contradictory, but some will just never get there. People are wired differently. No need to force the connection. Their journey is different.

But be real and be honest in all of your relationships. Be loving out there! That is the least and the best we can do for each other and for ourselves.

The real ties that bind that I’ve been blessed with, I value their true candy hearts. God bless them and you!
