The Latest Menace to Our Planet

The latest menace to our Earth are disposable masks and plastic gloves. It is their materials, how they’re constructed, and the sheer fact that most everyone wears them across our planet these days.

So Covid, yet again, is doing more damage, but now in terms of pollution. Please read.

Coronavirus face masks: an environmental disaster that might last generations

I don’t know about you, but the first time I went to dispose of my disposable mask, I wondered if it was recyclable? I thought of the animals getting caught in the straps. You just knew they were bad news!

And many people wear plastic gloves, although I’ve heard it is safer for all if people would just wash their hands. The germs live on gloves too, and we’re all more at risk of cross contamination and false security when relying on gloves.

Please share this information with everyone you know. I don’t think people realize the filth that’s being created. Let’s care for our Earth while caring for its people 🌎

1- Get reusable masks made of cotton or any comfortable, breathable fabric for you and your people. They are better for the environment and for you too!

2- Cut the straps of your masks before you place them in the trash to protect the wildlife.

3- When disposing of masks and gloves, place them in a plastic garbage liner, so they do not get loose in the environment.

4- Wash your hands with hand sanitizer or pure water and soap, instead of wearing plastic gloves and causing more waste.

Let’s protect our health and the health of our planet. Our health is what we need to live, and … “The Earth is what we all have in common.” – Wendell Berry
