Remember giving out Valentine cards in the classroom? You would ever so carefully choose just the right one for each friend and crush and classmate. Your friend would get your favorite one, and your crush, well, it would be the gooiest.
I don’t think kids are allowed to do that anymore. Now, the nameless valentines are placed in scarlet and lilac glitter containers. Still so sweet!
As I’m much older, Valentine’s Day still gets me thinking of my loves. These loves come in many forms. So blessed!
These loving relationships take work and time. A lot of give and take; filled with light and dark moments; easy and hard conversations. All done in the spirit of truth and love. So worth it!
These people build with you. They cheer on your goals. They’re sad when you’re sad, and happy when you’re happy. “They get you!”
So ask them, “Will you be my valentine?”
Take this Valentine’s Day to spread love and watch it ripple. Then celebrate and cherish your sweetest hearts on Valentine’s Day and every day.
