Have you spoken to a robot lately? I think we all have. Most customer services are answered by a friendly computer for years now. And how about our attentive friends, Siri and Alexa?
Curiosity got the best of me. I did a quick search to see what else artificial intelligence, AI, can do these days. Here we go, and this is not all.

Okay, yes, all pretty remarkable! AI uses computer systems to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. AI is made to learn and adapt, so it gets stronger, more accurate, and more efficient.
And think about what happens to us humans as we age?
Two types of AI exist today. Weak AI is the current form that does specific programmed tasks without thinking or reasoning. Well, of course, but not so fast.
Researchers are at work on Strong AI that will have consciousness and general intelligence. The machine will think, reason, and decide for itself. That is still mostly science fiction, for now. Remember, this technology gets better with time.
I think the time has come to stream some old favorites – Terminator, Transformers, The Matrix, and Wall-E, to name a few. And while we’re at it, unplug that Alexa. Mine is gone for a while now. Maybe it’s even time to rethink our data sharing via our computers and our phones. Ha!
It may be too late. I find it interesting that the internet rolled out as a source of information for us. Then, internet searches and social media sizzled, and we became the source of information. So many of us willing participants share our lives, minds, and hearts.
It feels like we’ve all been played by the machine to steal our thoughts and mimic our humanity. “We’ll be back” in some form. But our souls will forever be unreachable and untouchable.
