The Christmas Story

Many of us know the iconic scene from A Christmas Story released in 1983.

A Christmas Story | Ralphie Gets His BB Gun

This scene is what Christmas for a child is all about – getting the gift that was number one on the Santa List. It captures the parents’ enthusiasm that they were able to make this gift, this moment, happen.

The small wrapped package conveys so much love, and the room is filled with excitement. Just like a small babe wrapped in cloth delivered to the world from our Heavenly Father on the First Christmas long ago.

Unrest, anticipation, and joy. Ralphie gets his prized present! Unrest, anticipation, and joy. Jesus is born!

Our secular society makes Christmas about shopping, decorating, baking, entertaining, and the lists go on. The beauty is much of this is done in LOVE for others. God is love.

God gave His only son to save us. Happy Birthday Jesus. You are our greatest gift of all time forever and ever.

“O holy Child of Bethlehem, Descend to us, we pray; Cast out our sin and enter in, Be born in us today. We hear the Christmas angels. The great glad tidings tell: Oh, come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Immanuel!” O’ Little Town of Bethlehem, 1868

Merry Christmas to All!
