Seasons Yet to Live

Nothing sets the alarm to the passage of time like the new year. And each year, time is captured by seasons. Nature has seasons. People have seasons. There’s no denying it.

Spring – Youth

We are fresh spirits awakened in the world. Ready for opportunity and open to joy. Not blemished by hurt or disappointment … yet.

Happiness, Innocence, Hope

Summer – Young Adult

We barrel through life – nothing stops us. We make decisions that create our future for many years. Not experiencing the consequences … yet.

Optimism, Ambition, Strength

Fall – Midlife

We become acutely aware of life’s fragility. We reach for another shot. Not knowing that time is running out … yet.

Resilience, Experience, Wisdom

Winter – Mature Adult

We did our best. We cannot do what was once possible. Not realizing we are on our own … yet.

Introspection, Loss, Peace

Some joy can be found in all of our seasons. As long as we process our lives and pass the baton. To think it could have been any different is futile. To appreciate who we are and what we have along the way. That is a life well lived in every season.
