It seems Valentine’s Day is all about hearts. Heart shaped candy boxes. Heart covered greeting cards. Heart accessories and bling jewelry. Heart decorations outside and inside our homes. And not just hearts, bright ones in pink, red, and purple!
All of this gets me in the spirit to send Valentines to my sweethearts. According to Hallmark, I’m not the only one.
Approximately 145 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged (not including classroom Valentine exchanges), making Valentine’s Day the second-largest holiday for giving greeting cards. This could be because Valentine’s Day is also celebrated in Canada, Mexico, France, Australia, Denmark, Italy, and the United Kingdom. I never knew!
I love this holiday because it’s about taking care of each other’s hearts. All in the name of love. Romantic, yes of course, but also a special greeting to our friends, family, children, parents, and pure kindness to a passersby on that day.
When we take care of others, we take care of our own hearts too. All a worthy celebration! Now let’s listen to this classic. Happy Valentine’s Day!
